Job Description
Elizabeth Penrose, CPA, LLC, a premier tax preparation and accounting firm located in McMinnville, Oregon is seeking an innovative and self-motivated administrative assistant and bookkeeper to support our clients.  A strong administrative and bookkeeping skillset is preferred; we will provide mentoring as appropriate.  This is a significant opportunity for the right person.
 
The administrative assistant and bookkeeper will be responsible for these services: 
  1. Clerical duties – answer telephone, greet clients, assist clients with drop-off and pick-up of tax and accounting information.
  2. Client file setup and maintenance.
  3. Tax preparation assistance, which includes copying and collating of original tax documents and input of client tax data.  
  4. Assembly of tax and accounting projects for client pickup.
  5. Maintain general ledger records, including A/R, A/P, and bank reconciliations;  payroll and benefits processing along with related quarterly and annual payroll reports and other routine bookkeeping functions as they arise.
Requirements:

  2. Associates degree in accounting/bookkeeping preferred.
  3. Two or more years’ experience with QuickBooks (desktop and online); experience with other accounting software a plus. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word. 
  4. Relevant experience/training/certifications in QuickBooks; QuickBooks set-up and budgeting experience a plus. 
  5. Experience in a tax office and familiarity with tax return preparation would be an added advantage.
