Job Description
Michelbook Country Club is seeking a part-time Line Cook to join our team. Michelbook Country Club is a private golf course and club, which has been a fixture in McMinnville for more than fifty years. Our clubhouse features a restaurant, lounge in addition to a full 18-hole golf course. This position has a flexible schedule may include evening, weekend and holiday hours. Position includes advancement opportunities for qualified candidates after probationary period and performance review. Applicants must currently have or be able to obtain a Food Handlers Permit. Must be able to stand for the entire shift, lift 50 lbs, and to bend and twist.

Job Summary:
Prepares and presents food in accordance with club recipes and standards.
 
Job Tasks and Duties:
  • Consistently uses safe and sanitary food handling procedures in accordance with state regulations.
  • Sets up, maintains and breaks down prep stations in accordance with prep lists.
  • Prepares meats, seafood, vegetables, sauces soups and other items required for line and special function purposes per club standards.
  • Carefully follows recipes when prepping all items.
  • Serves items in accordance with established portions and presentation standards.
  • Uses food preparation equipment according to manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Ensures that equipment, stations, refrigeration units, pantries, etc. are neat, clean and sanitized.
  • Keeps all workstations orderly, clean and sanitized
  • Maintains a neat and professional appearance, as well as observes personal cleanliness.
  • Returns unused food products to the proper storage areas with appropriate dates and labels.
  • Ensures that food products are being properly rotated and used in a timely manner to prevent spoilage.
  • Identifies products that are needed and notifies the Executive Chef.
  • Sets up and breaks down buffets, both inside and outside with properly cleaned and sanitized serving equipment
  • Maintains food service at buffets and, at times prepares menus when requested by the Executive Chef.
  • Maintains security and safety in the work area.
  • Handles all china and glassware carefully to minimize breakage.
  • Continuously inspects floors in kitchen areas to assure they remain clean, clear of debris and dry.
  • Assists with dishwashing when needed and completes daily kitchen cleaning and maintenance lists.
  • Puts deliveries away in a timely manner and where products belong.
  • Assists with other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef.

Required Skills/Education:
Food Handlers Permit (or ability to obtain one)
