Job Description
Michelbook Country Club is seeking a part-time server/bartender to join our team. Michelbook Country Club is a private golf course and club, which has been a fixture in McMinnville for more than fifty years. Our clubhouse features a restaurant, lounge in addition to a full 18-hole golf course. This position has a flexible schedule may include evening, weekend and holiday hours. Position includes advancement opportunities for qualified candidates after probationary period and performance review. Applicants must currently have, or be able to obtain a Food Handlers Permit and OLCC Servers Permit. Must be able to stand for the entire shift and lift 35 lbs.

Job Summary:
Provides food and beverage service to club members and guests
Job Tasks (Duties)
  • Sets up side station and performs assigned side work
  • Uses proper phone etiquette and accepts reservations
  • Provides immediate attention to all members/guests upon arrival this includes greeting all guests with a smile and their name
  • Distributes Menus, answers questions and suggests menu items and introduces daily specials
  • Knows food and beverage items that are being served such as the ingredients, taste, seasonings, etc. along with how to serve and retrieve these items
  • Anticipates members/guests needs. Must have a sense of urgency, each and every time
  • Takes beverage orders as appropriate and turns into Bartender, if on shift. Suggestively sells wines or up sells beverages
  • Be aware of alcoholic serving techniques and responsibilities
  • Adds garnish to beverage orders as needed
  • Places beverages on tray; delivers and serves beverages to members/guests
  • Takes members’/guests orders
  • Places orders with kitchen; informs cooks about any special cooking instruction
  • Serves; places dishes by course in front of each person
  • Checks back to ensure member/guest satisfaction; replenishes water as necessary
  • Removes empty glasses, soiled dishes and keeps tables clean in timely manner
  • Suggests and serves dessert, coffee and after dinner drinks
  • Verifies accuracy of prices and other charges on all checks
  • Presents bill
  • Handles all cash and credit card charges as prescribed by standard operating procedures
  • Advises Service Supervisor of any complaints as they occur
  • Performs clean-up, pre-set and closing duties as assigned by Service Supervisor

Required Skills/Education:
Food Handlers Permit (or ability to obtain one)
OLCC Servicers Permit (or ability to obtain one)
